Assalamualaikum Peeps!
How's your day? I hope you always in a pink !
This time I would like to tell you about the fifth week of industrial training as a practical teacher at Taska Syaz Gong Badak.
24 October 2021 (Sunday)
I
was supposed to have to take care of the baby section, but the teacher at the
Taska asked me to make an exchange with another practical teacher because the
baby who cried last week seemed a little comfortable with her body figure. The
body figure of the practical teacher likely has similarities with his mother.
Through this situation, I had to act quickly and adapt to the situation by
thinking of suitable activities that could be done with 2 and 3-year-olds. I
did not have any preparation, there are no teaching aids were used in the
activity. I just did a spontaneous activity of talking to selected children
about pets. The children were very excited to tell the story and I inserted
some simple related questions for the children to continue the story. Through
these activities, the children can increase their level of confidence, language
development, literacy, and communication, and others. This activity can be done
again in the future by using other topics.
25 October 2021 (Monday)
Today,
the teacher at the Taska asked me to make milk for the children. She asked me
to ask the other teachers if I did not know the dosage of milk and water for
each child. So I learned how to make milk for children even though it was still
clumsy. The dosage of milk and water should be according to the way the parents
want because the children will probably lose appetite if they drink milk that
is not the same as usual. Milk bottles also cannot be shared and need to be
sensitive to the matter. This is very interesting in my view because caregivers
need to keep all of these things in mind despite having a large number of
children.

Teaching
aids are one of the important elements in a teaching and learning process
regardless of age. This is because teaching aids provide an increase in
children’s understanding to understand something. Therefore, the teaching aids
must have some important features for them to be effective tools. Among the
features that must be present is that the teaching aids must be in line with
the flow of time and can be used for a long time. Through teaching aids for the
activities carried out, I feel that the teaching aids can only be used for a
short time because they are easily damaged. I use an egg carton that has been
left for a long time, so it has become easily torn in case of a mistake. All
things must be taken into account in making teaching aids. Instead of making it
just to be used once.
27 October 2021 (Wednesday)
I
saw other practical teachers doing activities where children had to crawl under
the frame of a plastic bed which had been clean. In the beginning, the children
did not follow the teacher’s instructions because they did not clear with the
explanation given. The teacher asked for my help to show how to do the activity
by crawling under the bed. I did it, and
a handful of children followed that way well. However, the management of child
control must be done well because there is a fear of any unwanted accidents
while doing activities.
28 October 2021 (Thursday)
On the last
day of this fifth week, I learned about the importance of two-way communication
between the Taska and parents. Taska and parents communicate through the
Whatsapp application where all information related to children is shared
through the medium. Therefore, parents know the activities and activities
performed by their children. I found that parents are happy and satisfied when
they see their children doing activities and socializing with other children. I
can see that the Taska has carried out its responsibilities to the community
and parents.
That's all from me for the fifth week of Practicum at Taska Syaz Gong Badak Branch. Thank you for reading my journey.😉
Stay safe! 💙
