FOURTH WEEK OF PRACTICUM AT TASKA SYAZ GONG BADAK

 Assalamualaikum Peeps!

How's your day? I hope you always in a pink !

This time I would like to tell you about the fourth week of industrial training as a practical teacher at Taska Syaz Gong Badak.

17 October 2021 (Sunday)

Today I was asked by the staff to take care of the baby due to a lack of staff. I was required to take turns with another practical teacher and agreed to take turns taking care of the baby. But I only took care of them for a few hours because there was a baby who just wanted to stick with me. Probably because her mother also wore a spectacle like me. I felt the child was facing separation anxiety because he was just crying all day and looking for a teacher wearing a spectacle. Separation anxiety is where children find it difficult to separate from the people closest to them. I was intrigued by the separation anxiety which was the way to overcome it because I felt sorry for the child who cried all day even though he had been sent to the nursery for three weeks. This matter is interesting to study through past research. The knowledge gained can be put into practice in daily life and is very useful in the future.

18 October 2021 (Monday)

Today I was assigned to take care of children aged 2 and three. However, at lunch, I felt like my body temperature was very hot and I went out of class to check my body temperature. My expectation is true that my body temperature rises to 39.0. Feelings of worry began to present and when I touched the water, my body felt cold. Not long after that, I began to gradually isolate myself from children for fear of children getting infected. I asked a colleague to buy a swab test kit to check if there were any early signs of COVID-19 infection and the result was negative. The Taska supervisor gave me the flexibility to go home early and rest as well as I was sent home by the Taska teacher. I am so thankful to have such a good and caring co-worker at Taska Syaz.

20 October 2021 (Wednesday)

Today, there is a 7 -month -old baby. He is the son of the staff at Tadika Syaz. As long as the baby was in the nursery, he cried non -stop despite being persuaded, given milk, and others. This is because the baby had been cared for by his father throughout his birth and the baby had recognized the people and sounds around him. The baby only stops crying when he sees his mother coming and crying back if his mother disappears from view. This situation can also be identified as separation anxiety. I need to go deeper in that field to be able to control and handle the situation.

21 October 2021 (Thursday)

Today I am teaching children about three colors which are yellow, green, and red. The teaching aids used are sticks and paper houses for three colors.

I used this opportunity to integrate by introducing traffic light colors. Children can do the activity well by classifying the stick into paper houses based on the correct color.

However, I have adjusted the paper house which does not fit the height of some of the children. The development of each child is different and of course, the height is also different. I was supposed to adjust to suit the average height of children to make it easier for them to do the activities carried out. I need to be more sensitive to things like this in the future.
That's all from me for the fourth week of Practicum at Taska Syaz Gong Badak Branch. Thank you for reading my journey.😉
