This time I would like to tell you about the seventh week of industrial training as a practical teacher at Taska Syaz Gong Badak.
This week there is no teaching and learning process conducted at Taska Syaz. This is because I was required to move to Tadika Syaz and take on the job of a teacher who was on leave. After all, her mother was ill. Since the teacher was on duty to take care of the kitchen section this week, I was asked to manage the task.
Before starting the task, I was guided by another teacher on duty and explained about my duty in taking care of the kitchen section. I was required to take the breakfast and lunch that had been prepared in the Taska and serve it to the children. Each time the children finished eating, I would be required to clean that part of the kitchen by doing several tasks such as washing dishes, sweeping up food scraps, and mopping the floor to ensure cleanliness was always maintained.
However, I was also required to take care of the 6-year-old children. I just give the children space to do exercise book assignments. I guide children one by one because every child has a different developmental stage.
Through this week’s experience, I felt the importance of skills in adapting to a variety of situations. This is because, every thing is difficult to predict and I as an educator need to have those skills to facilitate the affairs of each task. This experience meant a lot to me
