This time I would like to tell you about the ninth week of industrial training as a practical teacher at Taska Syaz Gong Badak.
21 November 2021 (Sunday)
Teaching aids are one of the important elements in a teaching and learning process regardless of age. This is because teaching aids provide an increase in children’s understanding to understand something. Therefore, the teaching aids must have some important features for them to be effective tools. Among the features that must be present is that the teaching aids must be in line with the flow of time and can be used for a long time. Throughout this activity, I had used letter A spinner as teaching aids to introduce six items that started with letter A. The children found the teaching material that had been used is interesting and come to me voluntarily. It shows that, interesting and effective teaching aids could get attract the children's interest in doing the activity.
22 November 2021 (Monday)
Today I did not provide any activities because today was the other practical teacher's turn to create the activities. While the children were doing activities, other children did not do activities because they were one year old who were already can walk. Therefore, I felt that as a teacher, I must always have the idea to create activities for other children so they can also enhance their development holistically. Planned activities are not necessarily activities that need to use teaching aids. Activities can also be done without materials that require body movements such as doing locomotor movements. Therefore, I need to make sure that children in that category also do activities that stimulate their development.
23 November 2021 (Tuesday)
There is none activity process had been carried out today due to give the children to play freely with their friends. Through play, the children had been able to increase their development in various aspects which are social development, language development, physical development, and others. The other practicum teacher had provided the balloon to the children. The children had shown happy and excited facial expression when the teacher takes out all of the balloon. In conclusion, I need to make various activity that the children can play indirectly.
24 November 2021 (Wednesday)
Today i had been introduces about letter B and six items that started with letter B using letter B spinner. The children that had been involved had their interest in the spinner and I had done the activity in the area that contains all the children. When I want to do an activity, a child did not want to do the activity even though had been persuaded by the teacher. The child rarely speaks and can only be heard when the child is playing a game. When it was her turn to do the activity, the child insisted and did not want to hold the materials. I tried to find the cause of the problem and found that the child was distracted by distractions made by other children. Therefore, I need to ensure an environment for children while doing activities because it can affect the children's attention to something. When trying to do activities, children need to be ready so that they do not feel forced. If forced, it will affect children. I need to be more sensitive and find ways to get the children’s attention to do activities in the future.
25 November 2021 (Thursday)
There is none activity process had been carried out today due to I need to take over the other teacher who had to attend some events. I had to take over bathing duty and changing diaper of the children. Through this duty, I had learn various things including Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) that had been applying by the Taska. I also learn how to make myself brave when I need to clean the children when they just pooped. It gave me many experience that I cannot forget.
